Have you seen the reels, “my Roman empire is xyz” the jist is a topic you are heavily invested in. Mine? Homemaking. But not the superficial 1950’s aesthetic, I mean the nitty gritty of homemaking. How the lack of true womanhood is leaving society in ruins.
It sounds a bit dramatic. But when we look at the demise of western society, it’s easy to find some of the large culprits. I will start by saying godlessness, is a major factor in our decaying society, but the lack of homemaking is huge.
But how Shelby? How is the lack of women staying home resulting in the decay of our society?
Well, lets look at a few different areas. We’ll start with public school. Public school is in shambles. The night and day difference of children who are homeschooled compared to public school is astonishing. But many parents can’t afford private or stay home to homeschool.
Then lets look at the village. Well, I should say the lack of the village. Daycare and public school is the village, and it’s doing a terrible job. My grandmother went to work, she didn't have time to help with children, still does not. And that’s typically the norm across the board.
Women have to pour time into careers instead of community and the village. Don’t come at me, I know we need money in this economy. But the time has arrived to build better. To change.
Next point, food. If you’ve been following me for a bit, you may have heard once or twice the kitchen is the heart of the home, well it’s true. When we let our nutrition go to shambles, many areas follow. Our health and look industrial farming? That’s a whole other post.
But when women went to work, they needed quick and easy. In all honesty, I want quick and easy, but I know at the end of the day, if I choose quick and easy, day in and out, that’s the culture I’m creating.
So my Roman empire is the fact that as women we have so much control over changing society, we don’t even realize it. No matter where you live, color, or who you are, you can bring change as a homemaker.
If you’ve read that and think, we’ll cool, but I have to still work, same. Extra funds is practically needed in this day in age, but the neat thing? Women have always worked to some capacity. It wasn’t until the industrial revolution that women really started working outside of their homes for corporations.
